23 Things
Hello + welcome internet world! Tbh, putting my pen to the paper or in the case my fingers on the keyboard, has been on my “to do” list for a long time, but at the request of and support from my friends, I’ve finally pulled it together. So, here it is people! With 23 years down, here are a few fun facts for those following along:
1. My name gets mispronounced/misspelled at least once a day, and ok I totally get it. My full name is Jaclyn, but I go by Jaci – pronounced Jackie not JC, Jay-Z or Jawcey. I’ve brought this up to my parents many times on why they decided to spell my name in the most complicated way ever. The only response I’ve ever received was “because your special”. So, fine. I guess I’ll take it.
2. I was born in Wilkes barre, Pennsylvania but raised in San Diego, California.
3. I am overly obsessed with dogs. My dad says my hand is a magnet to any dog that walks past me. I have to pet it. You will most likely always here me say “look at that dog” throughout the day. I have a golden retriever named Bella and she is my life. She’s the most friendliest, happiest dog I’ve ever met and you can find her posted all over my Instagram.
4. My first big “adult” purchase will be a medium Goldendoodle named Oliver (also my last three points have all been about dogs).
5. I love to travel and have a huge of bucket list of places I hope to see soon including: Croatia, Tulum, Bali, Australia, South Africa, etc. The list goes on forever!
6. After graduating high school, I attended four different colleges in three different cities. I attended Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, City College of San Francisco, Mira Costa College in Encinitas and finally graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Marketing. At the time, I struggled knowing what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be, but in the end I don’t regret the path(s) I took. I met so many different kinds of people and experienced living in three amazing cities!
7. During my last year in college, I interned with CollegeFashionista which truly sparked my combined passion for fashion, photography, beauty and blogging. Through this internship, I was featured in a style article on Mtv.com which you can see here. I loved being a part of this community and met many creative and likeminded girls from universities everywhere, who I still keep in touch with today.
8. My two favorite clothing brands are Madewell and Current Elliot.
9. I wanted to be a teacher so badly when I was little that I had a white board in my bedroom and my parents bought me an over-head projector for Christmas one year. A bit excessive.
10. I value my friendships and relationships, a lot. The qualities I especially love in other people are honesty, thoughtfulness and I love a good (sarcastic) sense of humor 😉
11. I hated cooking until I moved to San Francisco. Since then, I love finding a good recipe and cooking a nice home-cooked dinner.
12. My two front teeth are fake.
13. I love road trips and I love the feeling of driving down the coast, windows down and music blasting.
14. I feel most content and at ease when I am at the beach. For some reason, it never ever gets old and it brings so much joy to my soul.
15. I enjoy anywhere with an amazing view with even more amazing people by my side!
16. My drink of choice is either a spicy margarita or an IPA.
17. I love to dance and I think I’m pretty good. I am always the first and last one on the dance floor.
18. I’ve always been a morning person and I live for productive mornings with a few cups of coffee.
19. I love all music, except for country (sorry). A few of my favorite artists are Ben Howard, The 1975, The Weeknd and Local Natives. My all time favorite song is Vultures by John Mayer or The Less I Know by Tame Impala.
20. My favorite accessory is a hat and any kind of dainty gold rings, earrings and necklaces.
21. Chanel Chance is my favorite perfume.
22. My favorite flowers are Farmgirl Flowers and I love seeing them delivered on the bicycles in San Francisco. Also, my birthday is August 4th, if anyone needs an bday gift ideas.
23. I’ve been wanting to create this blog for at least two years and am super excited to create something personal to share with all of you! 🙂
